This painting, part of her new series "The Travelers" is inspired by images from her personal archives shot over the course of 10 years at her home away from home on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean on east end of Long Island and, more recently, imagery captured along the banks of the Hudson River near Monica's new home and studio in the lower Hudson River Valley.  Inspired by the shades of late summer and fall over these two distinct bodies of water, this bright, joyful, textured painting will be a chic, colorful addition to any space.  Monica works in smaller, meticulous, nuanced, and purposeful strokes layered over broad and urgently placed paint to create this abstract painting.

This painting was created from a photograph taken in Main Beach in East Hampton just as a storm was starting to come in to the shore.
